- Schedule: Full-time, A Shift, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday
- Pay: $19 - $24 per hour. Final compensation is based on experience.
- Job Summary: The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all printed products meet established company and customer quality standards. This role involves inspecting materials throughout the production process, identifying defects, and collaborating with production teams to resolve issues. The inspector plays a critical role in maintaining product consistency, compliance with specifications, and customer satisfaction.
- Reports To: Quality Control Manager
- Duties/Expectations: While duties may vary from day to day, below is a list of general duties you can expect in this role.
- Inspect printed materials (books, packaging, labels, marketing collateral, etc.) for accuracy, color consistency, registration, finishing quality, and overall appearance. • Verify that jobs meet specifications outlined on job tickets, proofs, and customer requirements.
- Perform random quality checks at multiple stages of the production process (prepress, press, bindery/finishing).
- Document inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions using established quality reporting systems.
- Communicate quality issues to press operators, bindery operators, and supervisors promptly to minimize waste and rework.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, industry guidelines, and customer specifications.
- Assist in developing and improving quality control procedures and checklists. • Work with the production team to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain organized records of inspections, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Continuously work to develop skills / knowledge and complete all training required by the company
- Be a team player, communicate clearly and respectfully and maintain a positive attitude
- Be dependable, reliable, and consistently perform high quality work meeting company production standards
- Create a safe and hazard free work environment; follow safety protocols and report any risks
- Perform other duties as needed / assigned
- Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures
- Position Qualifications:
- Work Experience: Previous experience in printing, bindery, or related manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize print quality issues (color, alignment, defects).
- Knowledge of printing processes (offset, digital, etc.) and finishing/bindery operations is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, proofs, and technical specifications.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and quality documentation.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, LSS, ISO, and a 5S mindset is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be of legal working age and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Works indoors in a temperature-controlled manufacturing facility and may be exposed to loud sounds, hazardous chemicals, and equipment on the production floor. Must have the ability to bend, lift and carry up to 30 lbs.; stand/walk on hard surfaces and/or sit for extended periods; complete repetitive tasks; operate computers and/or machines (dexterity, bend, stretch, reach, climb, crouch, etc.); visual acuity to inspect fine details in print and communicate effectively. Full-time; schedule may vary depending on production needs, including occasional overtime. *Reasonable accommodation may be available upon request.
